a cupboard, and it's contents are poetry...

The Cupboard
by Walter de la Mare
i know a little cupboard,
with a teeny tiny key,

and there's a jar of Lollipops
for me, me, me.

and when i'm very good, my dear,
as good as good can be,

there's Banbury Cakes, and lollipops
for me, me, me.

{with lollipop and banbury cake love}

a perfectly imperfect paint crush!

this past weekend we painted over 30 year old tongue

groove cedar planking.  mr d. is very particular about

his painting technique...he's a bit of a perfectionist.

so how do i sell the idea that i DO NOT want the wall to

look perfect?  it was a tough sell...but i eventually

convinced far as i'm concerned a perfectly

imperfect paint job is "the new black"!

Hi Emily!

Emily, at jones design company stated it best yesterday

in her post about her hand painted wall paper...

"if you look closely, you’ll notice some pencil lines.
I suppose I could have erased them when the paint
was dry, but they don’t bother me.  The finished
walls are not perfect, but they are interesting
and add subtle pattern and they make me smile."

a bit more on the quest for

perfectly imperfect!

a must study for furniture

and cabinets...

i found a stock list of Anne's chalk paint

here in the PacNWest!

his perfectly imperfect work of art!}

Monday morning light...and Dreamy Whites...

in the early morning light

dreamy white becomes creamy white...

Maria...thank you!

i received my parcel from Maria

at Dreamy Whites on Saturday!

visit Maria here

for those of you that follow is well known that

the heart of my home is at my dining table under my

beloved chandie.  i was sooooo excited to add a touch of

Dreamy Whites to my place of heartfelt inspiration!

my first purchase from Maria was one of

the amazing French shot bags.   i am in the process

of accessorizing my husband's den... the perfect

opportunity to add a French touch to a man's world.

the bag is amazing...the fibers are tightly woven into a

tiny herringbone jacquard! such detail... so perfect

for the top of  our antique French roll top desk!

( i will be posting about the den and the desk

at a later date.

happy Monday everyone!

simply stated Sunday...

Counting my blessings...

"I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they

 slumber in their beds
If you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings"
