bye, bye...

to our daily walks to Whistler Village. the activities in the village, the food and the shops!

...and to our timeshare at Club Intrawest.

a so long to... our cool winter vacation home

with it's two bedrooms,

the master

two baths and a queen size sleeper sofa in the great room.

the spa tub and awesome shower's three flat screen TVs. {smile}

(we had Kinect on the big screen in the great room.

there were chick flicks available for viewing

in the master - spa room and Grandma could catch her

daytime she and Pa's room!)

speaking of Pa,

my 81 year old dad absolutely loved playing Kinect.

his fave was bowling!

the sitting area in the main (great) room was
cast aside just a bit to make room for Kinect.

the kitchen and breakfast bar

I loved hanging out and cooking dinner

after a day on the slopes...

the place for dining and crafting

Mr Dreams caught an image of Chrislyn

making her rag dollie gifts

...our little{wine}bar, only one bottle remains...

it's the night before we leave for home.

~* goodnight *~ {sad}

and the view from our deck this morning...

there was a fresh dusting of snow over night.

how beautiful!

see ya next year!

sharing time...

we love our yearly visit to our time-share

at Whistler, BC, Canada

the nice thing about a time share is that you can

experience a vacation with amenities sort of like

the rich and famous on a middle class income.

i thought it would be fun to share some of the
special touches that make us feel like
we're home again...
(please forgive the quality of my cell phone shots)

touches of art & design in the hallways...

each elevator landing has it's own statement

warm apple cider is served daily in the lobby...
here is one on the many places you
can sit, sip the spiced delight,
and enjoy the mountain view.

today, a glimpse of sunshine through a lobby window

your morning paper awaits...

homespun touches...

i love this little chair...
it's on the wall on the way to our place!

here's our place!

I'll tidy it up a bit for your visit tomorrow!

dessert at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler

it's a beautiful hotel...very spendy...

so we just go for dessert or a nightcap!

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler

the mallard lounge and terrace is adjacent

to the hotel's beautiful lobby.

two large fireplaces divide the area.

you can take the whole family to have dessert, and

the adults can have a night cap or

an alpine warmer... like blueberry tea...

 if they wish to.

mr dreams favorite vacation nightcap!

we share the amazing chocolate fondue!

i took the photograph without flash so you can

appreciate the lovely presentation.

fresh berries, bananas, and pineapple,

with almond biscotti, hazelnut shortbread

and fluted fluffs of meringue are for dipping.

it's a lovely way to reflect upon the day's activities and

Goodnight and God Bless!

twenty~six January

Happy Australia (Aussie) Day!
... to my friends down under!

it's a party here in Whistler, BC!

 i love Whistler Village...

the place is filled with people from all over the world.

i enjoy the opportunity to interact with the young people

from {The Commonwealth} that work (and play)

in the village. they are mostly Australian...

but many are from New Zealand.

last night we went to dinner and our waitress was Jules.

i told her about my sweet blog friend Jessi.

we decided to take a photo to send home for Jules...

and to say hi to Jessi and NZ.

(thankyou to mr do34thst for taking the great photo!)
Hey Jessi!...Jules said to say hello to a fellow Kiwi!
From left to right...
my dad John, Jules, me and my mother Jan!

Melaine's very COOL idea!

thank much for such a brilliantly simple solution!

we have this awesome stainless cooler that i am

always dragging up stairs for parties and family

get-togethers. it will now have it's little

make over and reside in our dining room!

maybe i should have titled this...why didn't i think

of this...but, Melaine, i am so happy that you did!
